Why Join the Youth Committee?

If you are 35 or under, this is your platform to influence union life. This committee isn’t just a title; it’s a strategic group dedicated to:

  • Developing Strategies: Creating ways to make union involvement relevant to younger workers.
  • Defining Needs: Identifying the specific challenges your generation faces in today’s workplace.
  • Shaping Policy: Ensuring the future of our collective agreements and working conditions is built by those who will live them.

No Expertise Required: You don’t need to be a labor law expert or have years of experience to make a difference. What we need is your energy, your fresh perspective, and your ideas. We provide the tools; you provide the vision.

Mentorship & Growth

The committee will be mentored by Gérard Sehounhouedo, VP of Mobilization and Union Life. This is a direct line to the Executive where you can learn the ropes of labor advocacy while bringing your own fresh perspectives to the forefront.

To kick things off, we are launching a Union-Themed Quiz. This is a low-pressure way to test your knowledge, learn about your rights, and get on our radar.

  • Participation Prizes: Various prizes will be awarded to those who take part.
  • A Seat at the Table: Selected participants will be invited to join us for our Annual Retiree Celebration Dinner on May 22nd.

The dinner on May 22nd is a unique opportunity to sit down with the retirees who fought for the benefits, safety standards, and working conditions we enjoy today. It is a chance to exchange stories, understand the history of our struggle, and carry that momentum forward into the next era of our union.
